What We Do

As worship is the foundation for everything else that we do in life, our mission to make Christ known in our world stems from our desire to honour him not least when we come together in collective acts of worship. We seek to enable one another to be the people that God wants us to be, so that we seek to encourage lay ministry and to equip ourselves with good training and practices.

We provide worship in both our churches in the mainstream of the anglican tradition. Both St Mary’s and St Michael’s have great music and provide activities for all ages.

Many special services take place in our churches not least  baptisms, weddings and funerals. As city centre churches we have also civic roles and often mark important stages in life (both personal and institutional) , such as anniversaries and memorial services.

We are privileged to be able to witness to the great port city of Southampton visible signs of God’s love. Residents and visitors look to our churches and their congregations to provide pastoral support and care in a whole variety of circumstances. if you think that we can help you please contact us.

With the civic centre, two universities, colleges and schools, a huge range of business and public services, and much of the port in and around the City Centre of Southampton we have a special responsibility to relate the Christian faith to the needs of the world today.  To this end we also seek to engage widely with the communities of Southampton.
